No Account, No Advertising ID, Blocking on Your Device
Dam It! has no account, no email and no password. The advertising ID permission is removed from the app entirely. Blocking runs on your device: the Accessibility Service reads no screen content and sends nothing off your phone. Crash reports and aggregate usage counts are sent only if you opt in during setup, and they're off by default.
The full list
- No account, ever. There's no Dam It! account because there's nothing to sign up for.
- Advertising ID removed. The AD_ID permission is stripped from the app manifest.
- Blocking on your device. Gesture detection is on-device and transient. No screen content is read or transmitted.
- Payments by Google Play. Billing, trials and cancellation live in Play. Dam It! never sees a card number.
- Opt-in only: anonymous crash reports and aggregate feature counts, if you agree during setup. Reversible any time in Settings.
- Referrals: if you use a referral link, a pseudonymous subscription ID is stored to credit the reward.

Questions people ask
Does Dam It! read my screen?
No. Its Accessibility Service detects when you're inside a short-form feed and intercepts the swipe. It reads no screen content and sends nothing off your device.
Why does it need the Accessibility permission then?
It's the standard Android mechanism for detecting and intercepting gestures inside other apps. Dam It! uses it only for that.
Is it safe to give an app Android's Accessibility Service permission?
It's a powerful permission, which is why Android makes you switch it on by hand. Check what each app says it does with it. Dam It! uses it only to detect the short-form feed and stop the swipe; it reads no screen content and sends nothing off your device.
